RV roof heat · Texas
Texas sun bakes a thin factory roof all afternoon. FlexArmor’s thick, seamless shell adds a heat barrier across the whole roof, so your AC isn’t fighting the sun.
The air conditioner runs all afternoon and the RV still won't cool down.
The ceiling and upper cabinets feel warm to the touch on a sunny day.
The sun has dried out the caulk, and the rubber is chalking, cracking or peeling.
How we cut RV roof heat
The roof you see sprayed is the last step of a four-part RV roof system. Most jobs are done indoors in about three days.
01
Thermal cameras and moisture meters check the decking for hidden water. You get a clear picture of what your roof needs.
02
All caulking is stripped and anything that needs to come off comes off. Rotted wood is repaired or replaced, from minor repair to full tear-down.
03
RV-specific prep products for each roof surface, plus custom FlexArmor parts around vents and edges that seal leak-free.
04
Pure polyurea sprayed indoors as one seamless piece, components reinstalled, and your written lifetime no-leak warranty registered.
About 3/16 inch thick · Far thicker than a factory membrane · One seamless shell across the whole roof · No caulk lines to dry out and crack · Lifetime transferable no-leak warranty
FlexArmor’s roughly 3/16-inch seamless shell is far thicker than a factory membrane and adds a layer of insulation across the whole roof, which helps your AC keep up. How much cooler depends on your RV, its insulation and where it’s parked.
The roof takes direct sun all day, and most factory roofs are a thin membrane over wood decking, with very little between the sun and your ceiling.
Yes. Sun and heat dry out caulk and sealant, and rubber roofs chalk, crack and shrink over time. That is where leaks start.
FlexArmor is pure polyurea with over 600% elongation, so it flexes as the RV heats up, cools down and travels instead of cracking.
Most FlexArmor roofs take about three days, and the work is done indoors.
